Anti-inflammatory Morning Drink

This drink from Parsley Health's 5-Day Clear Mind and Body Reset (highly recommend) is part of my everyday morning routine. Anti-inflammatory ingredients like ginger and turmeric and ph balancing lemon for your digestion, makes this the perfect way to wake up from overnight fasting and leaves you feeling refreshed and energized. You can drink this hot or cold! I make a batch in a teapot and then store in the fridge if I want it cold. Easy peasy and takes 5 minutes to do. It's a great way to practice some much needed self-care! Here's my version:



2 1/2 cups cups boiling water

1 sliced organic lemon

1 inch piece of sliced fresh ginger (you can buy pre-measured pieces in the frozen section too!)

1/4 tsp ground turmeric


Boil the water, put in a teapot, then add the lemon, ginger and turmeric and let it sit for a bit (30 minutes tops). Then strain and drink at room temp or chill! You can add 2 tsp of honey to the pot if needed, but I do not. I try to stay away from sugar as much as I can :) I always drink with a fresh lemon slice for the extra vitamin C!
