Chocolate Covered Cherry Protein Smoothie

1 scoop chocolate protein powder (i prefer a vegan protein powder but any will do!)

2 T chia seeds

3/4 cup mixed frozen cherries

1 tsp fresh ginger

1 cup water

1/2 cup unsweetened vanilla almond milk


This is my go-to smoothie post workout. It has just over 30 grams of protein so it's a perfect way to replenish your muscle after a good workout - especially when weightlifting! The chia seeds provide much needed fiber and omega 3 fatty acids (as well as make us feel full) and the cherries and ginger provide anti-inflammatory benefits to help speed up your muscle recovery.
